Your circle, run by its own rules.
Your constitution, your officers, your ledgers. Wellth enforces what your circle agreed, and shows every member every movement.
Elected officers. Every member watching.
A circle is 10 to 30 members. Several circles can share a mother group of up to 100, like a school's parent body, with one constitution and one Auditor.
Chairperson
Convenes meetings, sets the agenda, and turns the first key on money out.
Treasurer
Keeps the pot, confirms each contribution landed, and turns the second key.
Secretary
Owns the record: minutes, the member register, and every ledger line.
Investment Committee
Three to five members of the mother group. Reviews deals and proposes them to the Assembly.
Auditor
Reads everything, writes nothing, and signs the cycle close.
Every member
Contributes, votes, borrows and sees the books. Officers are elected by secret ballot.
Two keys on every payout.
Loans, grants and share-outs need the Chair and the Treasurer, two different people. If one of them is being paid, the Secretary turns the key instead.
Loans with clear limits
By default up to three times your savings, one at a time, repaid within the cycle. Your circle sets the service charge.
Big loans go to the Assembly
Above the limit your constitution sets, every member votes before the keys are turned.
Secret ballots, counted in the open.
Elections, admissions, big loans and investments are decided by vote. The count is public. Who voted how is stored apart, and the app can never pair them.
Save together for something named.
The Chair or Treasurer starts a goal with a target and a date. Members see who paid what. Paying it out takes two keys, like any money out.
An audited share-out, to the shilling.
A cycle runs 8 to 12 months. Its close follows the same steps every time.
- 1FreezeFour weeks before the close, no new loans, and arrears must reach zero.
- 2AuditThe Auditor reconciles the pot against both ledgers and signs.
- 3VoteThe Assembly approves the share-out report and its formula.
- 4Pay outTwo keys, then each member's share goes to their mobile money, or is paid by hand.
- 5ExportThe whole cycle, line by line, in an audit export for your records.
- 6ReopenThe next cycle starts with elections.
